Elden Ring already one of the most watched games on Twitch

Elden Ring’s numbers are impressive, as all metrics at launch showed just how successful the game is. On Twitch, for example, FromSoftware’s new game peaked at over 900,000 viewers, beating all records ever set for a game from the developer.

At the time of writing, Elden Ring has over 500,000 viewers on Amazon’s streaming platform. From Software’s other games, such as Dark Souls, have 1,200 viewers, and that’s the best performance right now. Dark Souls 2, Sekiro, and Bloodborne combined get about the same number as Dark Soul 3 alone, between 800 and 900 viewers.

All the attention from fans of Hidetaka Miyazaki’s games is focused on Elden Ring, the most anticipated game of last year. For comparison, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Dark Souls 3, the last two games released by FromSoftware before Elden Ring, reached 280k and 276k viewers respectively at launch.

Elden Ring ranks second only to Lost Ark in viewership on Twitch for the month of February.

A few stats on Elden Ring’s first day:

In terms of Steam numbers, Elden Ring peaked at 764,835 concurrent players, out of which about 622 thousand are currently playing. According to Daniel Ahmad, a well-known game market analyst, Dark Souls 3 had the best performance among previous FromSoftware games with 130 thousand concurrent players.

It’s hard to put Elden Ring’s numbers beyond those achieved on Twitch and Steam, as the post-release trend is always downward, as it is with all games. But you can’t ignore the behemoth that Miyazaki has created, especially since it’s a specific niche subgenre.

Now they just need to get to work and optimize the game well.
