In cooperation with these partners, LITE-ON offers an innovative and highly efficient storage solution for scalable computing that meets the specifications of the Open Compute Project (OCP). The new Enterprise and Datacenter SSD Form Factor (EDSFF) drives provide a more cost-effective solution for large enterprise and cloud environments.

The new LITE-ON EDSFF solution offers storage density, design flexibility, thermal efficiency, scalable performance and easy maintenance with hot-swap capability. The hardware design also supports low-latency TLC 3D and low-cost QLC NAND Flash, depending on user-specific cloud applications.

The LITE-ON SSD EDSFF protocol can be configured between traditional NVMe logic block addressing and the next interface defined by Denali software (formerly Open Channel SSD).

LITE-ON SSD SSD SSD EDSSF is designed to provide maximum flexibility for rapidly evolving, inhomogeneous cloud workloads, from high-density IOPS artificial intelligence (AI) and compute-intensive applications to high-density nearline storage use cases. The original design is compatible with the EDSFF 1U Long Form Factor. The capacity can reach up to 80 TB with QLC technology.

No date was announced for the introduction of the new SSD.
