Dolphin, the emulator for GameCube and Wii, returns to the Android world

Dolphin is a famous Nintendo GameCube and Wii emulator that has had an Android version since 2013 but was removed from the Google Store in 2015.

After removal, users could only download development versions from the project’s website, although it has now been reborn in Google Play and they promise to have new versions every month.

It allows players to enjoy the games of these two consoles with various improvements. In the PC version, for example, they have full support for all controllers, turbo speed, network multiplayer and more. The Android version is slightly more limited and requires a 64-bit device with Android 5.0 or higher, without Chromebook version.

One of the major innovations recently announced is the improvement of Netplay. On July 13, 2008, 10 years ago, Dolphin opened its code, and then we could see in Dolphin Netplay to synchronize multiple instances of GameCube and Wii. Netplay allows users to run the same instance of a game on multiple computers because they have two or more emulators in the same state. This allows people from all over the world to play together, even if there is only one local multiplayer mode on the console.

The emulated Wii remotes have also been significantly improved, and some non-NVIDIA Android devices will eventually be able to use Dolphin’s Volcano backend.

It is important to know that there are no games in the emulator, as they must be purchased from other locations.
