With the arrival of the new iOS 11 mobile operating system, the iPad received the upgrade it deserved, a whole series of new features and functions that fully enhance our productivity. Among them, a dock whose resemblance to the Mac dock is by no means a coincidence. This new dock offers us new features, among them, the option to show recent and suggested apps on the right side, but how to disable this option?

Recent and suggested apps, a good option, but not always
Recent and suggested applications are a very good option, however, sometimes it may be a feature you just don’t need. For example, in my case, the apps I use most are precisely the ones I have in the dock so that, with this option enabled, I used to have them in duplicate, which is why I disabled them. If this is also the case for you, read on and you’ll learn how to disable recent and suggested applications in your iPad dock with iOS 11.
First, open the Settings app on your iPad and go to the General section → Multitasking and the Dock.
At the bottom of this screen, you will find the “Dock” section and the “Show Recent and Suggested Apps” option. Click on the slider to deactivate (or activate) this setting.

And that’s it! And it’s as easy to do as we’ve described it. Note that disabling this option does not override the Handoff feature, which displays the app you are working with on another device or computer to the right of the dock.
With this setting, you’ll simply prevent those three applications you’ve used most recently from appearing at the end of the dock, avoiding repetitions and giving you more room to place more apps in the dock.
