Good news for those waiting for the release of Death Stranding (i.e. everyone)! It has been confirmed that the “thread” system that allows you to see the action of other players in the world does not require a subscription to PlayStation Plus to be used.
The threads system is perhaps one of the most interesting features of Hideo Kojima’s highly anticipated game. Players can find items that others have left behind, either items or ropes and ladders used by other players to move around the world. This mode is NO cooperation and no Versus function.
The information was published by a legend on the PlayStation 4 Limited Edition package: “PlayStation Plus subscription payment is required to play multiplayer online. Sold separately. Death Stranding does not require a PlayStation Plus subscription.
This mode responds to a game type called “Asynchronous Multiplayer”. This is not an exclusive Death Stranding novelty, and this new information comes with it. Some other games like Soulsborne already used this system, but the game required PlayStation Plus for any online action. As a result, players who couldn’t or wouldn’t pay without much of the game’s content would have to pay for it.
The Death Stranding Theme Limited Edition package includes a yellow thematic joystick with the name of the game and a white console with black handprints on the surface. The console has 1 TB of internal memory and supports 4k definitions. It’s undoubtedly a collector’s item that every Sony fan would like to have in their possession.
