Cyberpunk 2077: No DRM, no microtransactions and free dlcs

CD Project Red, the creators of Witcher 3, have released their first trailer of
Cyberpunk 2077, the next great RPG experience for the developer. This trailer
came to the end of the Microsoft E3 2018 Press Conference after the event appeared to be pirated by an unknown party.

The game was revealed without a definite release date, although the game is scheduled to be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC at the same time.

CD Project Red has hidden a lot of additional information in their CyberPunk 2077 E3 trailer in the form of a hidden message. This message indicates that the game will be released “when ready” and that the game will feature free downloadable content, offer post-release expansion content and reach the PC without DRM (assuming that this is what the “DRM” message refers to in the hidden message).

Cyberpunk 2077 will also lack any form of microtransaction, with CD Project saying “Microtransactions” in a single-player role-playing game “Are you crazy?”.

A complete translation of the hidden message:

It’s been more than 2077 days since we announced the development of cyberpunk 2077′. We launched a CGI trailer, gave some interviews and… there was silence. A more or less common procedure in this kind of thing: they announce a game and then you shut up, roll up your sleeves and get to work. We wanted to give you’The Witcher 3′ and its two expansions first, which is why this period of silence was longer than planned. We’re sorry about that.

As soon as we finished the work on blood and Wine’, we were able to move forward at full speed with the pre-production of CP2077. But we chose to remain silent. Why? Why? When the time came, we made the decision to continue talking about the game when we had something to show. Something significant and substantial. This is because we realize that you have been waiting impatiently for a long time, and we would not want anyone to feel that we are taking that for granted. On the contrary, it gives us a great extra motivation. The hype is real, so the sweat and tears must also be real 🙂

But to get to the point. Today is the day. If you’re watching this, it means you saw the trailer. our vision of Cyberpunk, an alternative version of the future where America is in tatters, megacorporations control all aspects of civilized life, and gangs dominate the rest. And, although this world is full of adrenaline, don’t let car chases and guns fool you. Cyberpunk 2077 is a true single-player role-playing game powered by stories. You will be able to create your own character and… well, you will know the rest of what is shown in our stand at E3. Watch out for the previews!

Before we’re done, you probably have a few questions,

When? When?

When we told you that we would only launch the game when it was ready, we meant it. We are definitely much closer to a release date than in the past;) but now is not the time to confirm anything, so patience is still needed. Quality is the only thing that drives us. It’s the beauty of being an independent studio and editing your own games.

How big is it?

Huge, but… to be honest, right now we have no idea how much. Once we put it all together, we’ll tell you openly what to expect. And we promise you that this will be done before you start talking about reservations or asking for anything else.

3. DLC / Expansions / Without DRM

Expect nothing less than what we offered with The Witcher 3. As for DRM,’CP207777′, will be 100% DRM-free on PC.

4. Microtransactions?

In a single-player role-playing game? Are you out of your mind?

Once again, thank you for your patience. If you have a minute, visit cyberpunk.net and share your opinion (about anything you want) with us. We read everything that is published, we treat it very seriously.

With affection
