Some users are starting to notice since yesterday that they have the ability to schedule custom routines through the Google Home application. This is an important step to let a series of actions run automatically at specific times without having to set up voice commands on the intelligent speaker using the available Google Assistant.
This fulfills Google’s promise to bring custom routines to the event this summer, but when it committed Google I/O in the past, the company did not set a specific date and introduced the custom routines shortly after the date of the event. It is now when it brings the possibility that the same can be programmed, but with optional character.
It should be noted that the scope of this new option is currently quite limited, as it only appears for users with the English language set and is located within the United States. Deployment is on the server side, so there is no need to check for a new update to get it.
In any case, it is a welcome arrival for those who want to perform a series of actions at certain times without having to specify voice commands for their execution, e.g. to close the blinds and switch on the lights at a certain time in the afternoon/evening, among many other possibilities.
Now it is only a matter of using the tailor-made routines on an international level.
