Forums in China are still filtering in with an Intel Core i9-9900K, which is overclocked with 5.2 GHz on a Maxsun iCraft Z390 gaming motherboard. This confirms the good overclocking performance of these chips, which is expected. And it will be interesting to see their temperatures that are not reported by any leak.
The forum post compares the results with the Core i7-8700K at 5.0 GHz, which has a good advantage.
In the 3DMark Time Spy CPU test, the Core i9-9900K at 5.2 GHz scored 10367 points, compared to 7381 for the Core i7-8700K at 5.0 GHz. That’s a 40% more return, an interesting figure.
On the Fire Strike Ultra CPU test page, the i9-9900K scored 24003 points at 5.2GHz compared to 18241 points for the i7-8700K at 5.0GHz. That’s 31% more performance, also an interesting difference.
More testing is likely to come in these weeks before the chips are made available.
