The first 6-core Intel processors for laptops are almost ready for launch. Thanks to the introduction of unlocked Core i9 processors in notebooks. Also, we will gain a significant boost in the performance of these devices. The first results of the new Core i9 8950HK, Core i7 8850H, and Core i7 8750H have already appeared.
Core i9 8950HK is up to the Core i7-8700K in mono-thread
The first 6-core Intel processors for laptops are the Core i9 8950HK, Core i7 8850H, and Core i7 8750H. All of these come with a TDP of 45W. So the power consumption will be quite adjusted for what they offer. The Core i9 8950HK has the multiplier unlocked for overclocking.
The filtering of a Chinese website shows that the Core i9-8950HK achieves a score of 204 points in the single-core test of Cinebench R15. This result puts it almost on a par with the desktop Core i7-8700K. That is impressive if we consider that we are comparing a 45W chip with one of more than 90W.
Also, regarding the multi-core performance, the i9-8950HK is below the 8850H and the 8750H, the reason is unknown, it could be from the TDP limit to the test platform used.
