In addition to enriching game content, cloud gaming will also increase players’ demand for devices, providing investment opportunities.
Future of Cloud Computing technologies
Cloud gaming, is the use of cloud computing technology to move the game to a cloud server for operation. Players’ commands can be sent via an input device and network to the server, which in turn streams audio and video based on the user’s instructions to end devices, including mobile devices, PCs, handheld games and TVs.
Different cloud gaming platforms have announced their game offerings separately, which means that gamers’ demand for gaming hardware and peripherals is increasing.
According to the gaming research company Newzoo, the global potential for cloud gaming users is expected to grow from the current 73 million to 125 million by 2022, creating a huge market and opportunity.
Mobile gaming peripherals and input devices will be an important direction for mobile games in 2020, according to Mobile Trends Outlook 2020, published by Newzoo. With the development of cloud gaming, games will become more complex and of higher quality, and consumer demand for accurate input (e.g. handheld keys, etc.) and communication (e.g. headphones) will increase, further driving the demand for gaming peripherals.
