Some users are watching the Wi-Fi network crash because of Chromecast, which blocks routers with too many requests.
The way we connect to the Internet has changed since we used the first modems that used the telephone line. Currently, there are many more devices that communicate with the network. And some of them do it in entirely novel ways.
One of them is the Chromecast, the Google device that allows us to send content from the Internet to our TV without having to leave our mobile or tablet on.
However, there are also new problems and is that in recent weeks many users saw how their Wi-Fi networks fell for no apparent reason. One of the first official answers to the question has been given by the manufacturer TP-Link that has detected the cause.
Chromecast sends too many requests
Apparently, this occurs mainly in devices that have the latest versions of Android.
Other brands such as Asus, Linksys, Netgear or Synology have also been affected. And some of the manufacturers are making updates to the firmware of their devices to fix it.
How to solve the problem
Apparently, if we do not update our router because we do not know. Or because the brand does not provide the update. So, the temporary solution is to restart the router and do the same with the Chromecast. However, this will not prevent us from having that problem again later.
We can also deactivate the Cast option of our mobile device to mitigate the problem until it is finally solved.
Finally, some users indicate that disabling the guest mode this problem is solved. To do that in the Chromecast we must go to the application installed on our mobile. And click on the icon of the three points in the upper right corner. There we can deactivate the Guest Mode.
