Canon shows the power of its new product, 120MXS sensor. Canon has been working with high-resolution sensors for years, even developing a 250 MP sensor. Now they’ve posted a video on YouTube showing how far their 120MXS 120MXS CMOS sensor can go, offering a sufficient resolution of 13,280 x 9,184 pixels, nearly 60 times the FullHD resolution we all know.
Canon displays the impressive quality of its 120MXS sensor is capable of achieving in a video
Among other aspects, it has shown the quality of the videos that it is capable of capturing and maintaining even if digital zoom is used. Hence Canon has suggested its use in large spaces where large crowds of people congregate, such as sports stadiums. Canon aims to show everything that can be possible with this processor so that it will soon have commercial uses.
Canon claims that it is a CMOS sensor that has a size of 29.22 x 20.20mm (APS-H) with about 122 million active pixels, with square pixels of 2.2 μm x 2.2 μm, allowing high-resolution thanks to parallel signal processing, which reads high-speed signals from multiple pixels. It adds that progressive pixel reading at 9.4 fps is possible thanks to its 28 digital signal output channels.
For those who want to know more about this impressive processor, which by the time it reaches the market will cost quite a bit of money, so it will not be accessible to end users in principle, you can check out these Canon pdf showing all its specifications.
