Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is in development and is expected to launch later this year

Call of Duty has been in the headlines in recent days, especially when Activision confirmed that Infinity Ward is working on sequels to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and Call of Duty: Warzone to be released this year. But that’s not all: according to rumors, a Call of Duty: Warzone mobile game will be released later this year.

Well-known insider Tom Henderson is at it again. This time, he recently spoke out on Twitter and indicated that a fourth Call of Duty game (in addition to the two games mentioned above and next year’s title) will be released in late 2023. In a later tweet, he explained that the fourth game is Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, which is expected to launch in 2022.

Henderson’s second tweet confirmed that it is Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.

As Call of Duty Mobile continues to enjoy impressive success, Activision has already confirmed that it is working on a second mobile game in the series and even acquired mobile development studio Digital Legends last October to support the project.

With everything that has been going on around Activision’s “change of strategy” in the run-up to Microsoft’s future acquisition of the company, it’s no wonder that they’re focusing on their most successful franchise, which has a good chunk of the FPS niche market inactive players, albeit all very tightly wired and dependent on their Ricochet engine working as it should, because otherwise the cheaters will do their thing and no one will stop them.

For now, however, everything seems to be going well for Activision and we will soon have Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile on the horizon. We’ll see what’s in the official announcement that usually follows close to these leaks. If the 2022 release is confirmed, we’ll definitely check it out. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the rumors are true.
