Bosch announced the micro scanner “BML 050” using the MEMS mirror.
The BML 050 is a micro scanner with two small MEMS mirrors and a laser diode. By scanning the RGB color laser light on an arbitrary projection plane. This technology make it possible to form a focus free laser image.
The new device also has a video processor and a control circuit for performing various tasks. There is also a laser driver and a power supply management IC inside the main body. And it will also have a use even when there are space and power limitations. In addition, laser image can be used as an interactive user interface by measuring reflected light intensity for each pixel by using the photo diode.
The company is also planning to provide a reference design of a projector using BML 050. The laser projection image produced by the product is an innovative solution in home appliances, tablets, social robots. And this technology is also considered by the new era of augmented reality. Which uses the combination of real world view merged with the holographic images.
BML 050 Uses in Robotics and Augmented reality Controls
Recently there is a great achievement of getting light field view AR picture. There are numerous applications of AR technology. Such as games and heads-up displays that can use this technology for getting advance controls and visual experiences.
The company also announces that the company will also introduce some customer ready projects in late 2017. So wait for more great upcoming innovations from this company.
Bosch Sensortec provides a ready to use projector reference design including an RGB light source. This facilitates fast evaluation and saves design-in time to give early adopters an important head start. Interactivity is enabled by a photo diode that measures the reflected light intensity pixel by pixel – no calibration required.
