It seems to be a strange time to release a B450 motherboard, but Biostar has decided to do that by releasing the B450NH for AMD CPUs. The motherboard houses Ryzen processors from Summit Ridge to Matisse and Ryzen APUs from Bristol Ridge to Picasso.
Biostar B450NH, Mini-ITX motherboard for Ryzen announced
The B450NH, which is based on the B450 chipset and is available in a mini-ITX form factor with two DDR4 memory slots. The motherboard supports memory speeds up to DDR4-4000 and capacities up to 64GB. Surprisingly, the B450NH works well with memory modules with or without ECC.
Biostar equips the B450NH with four SATA III ports that support RAID 0, 1, and 10 arrays. However, it gets only one M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 slot for SSDs up to 80 mm in length. However, there is one small disadvantage. Older APUs, such as Bristol Ridge and Raven Ridge processors, only support SATA-based M.2 drives.
The Biostar B450NH contains two Realtek products The RTL8111H Ethernet Controller provides a single Gigabit Ethernet port for Internet connectivity. The ALC887 audio codec, on the other hand, handles the audio tasks. The motherboard is supplied with three 3.5 mm audio jacks.
The motherboard has an HDMI port and a D-Sub port, but you have to combine it with a Ryzen APU to use it, as Ryzen processors do not have integrated graphics. The rear panel also has a PS/2 combo port, four USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and two USB 2.0 ports. For greater connectivity, Biostar has placed one USB 2.0 head and one USB 3.2 Gen 1 head on the B450NH, and each head can provide up to two corresponding ports.
Biostar did not disclose the price or availability of B450NH. We will keep you informed.
