As a FreeSync 2 monitor, the EX3203R supports HDR and FreeSync with low frame rate compensation, giving you an effective window with a variable frame rate between 30 and 144 Hz. The EX3203R monitor has a VA panel with a maximum brightness of 400 cd/m^2 and provides 90% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.

No specific mention of local attenuation is made in the BenQ specifications, which gives this display limited HDR support, although the maximum brightness is 33% higher than the 300 cd/m^2 offered by most non-HDR displays.

Although the display is certified as a DisplayHDR 400 monitor, AMD has confirmed that its FreeSync 2 specification has a “higher bar” for color space, maximum screen brightness, and contrast ratios, many of the FreeSync 2 HDR requirements being similar to those of a DisplayHDR 600.

The screen has a radius of curvature of 1800mm, the screen is a VR-plate. Like the inputs, this monitor has a single display port 1.2, two HDMI 1.4 inputs, a single USB 3.0 input and two USB 3.0 outputs. The EX3203R supports USB Type-C as a screen input, which will be a useful feature for Mac users.

BenQ’s EX3203R goes on sale August 7 for about $699.99.
