Cultivate3D is an Australian startup that has just launched a new 3D printer campaign on the Kickstarter collection site. Beast V2, as it is called, is supposed to be a large format printer and at the same time the second generation of the flagship Cultivate3D printer. The equipment has already collected 34 thousand dollars, which is much more than the assumed collection target.
Beast V2 – 3D large printer on Kickstarter
Cultivate3D had already moved the world of 3D printers a few years ago when it launched Beast V1, including a huge printer workspace of 470 to 435 to 690mm. The printer, however, suffered from some quality problems. Now the company is collecting money for the second generation of its flagship product. It will be more advanced, better and more functional – only the price, according to the creators, will remain the same.
What will change? First of all, the work area. The printer will now handle an area of 490 by 500 by 670mm. The improved design of the equipment is also supposed to allow for greater printing accuracy or simplicity of use. Beast V2 will print at a resolution of 100-800 micrometers a layer with a height of up to 0.01 mm. This is complemented by a heated stand and a fully enclosed printing chamber.
The equipment is also to be able to use double printing or even four synchronous modeling over time. The printer will support PLA, ABS, Nylon, PET, PETG, TPU, TPE, PP, ASA, HIPS or carbon fibers. Finally, the price remains – according to Kickstarter, a package with a printer will cost just over $2,000. It’s still quite a lot, so if you want some simpler equipment, you can check the prices of 3D printers in shops.
