The white elephant is going unveiled slowly, we got the information of Battery and Storage information for Magic Leap One. In the last few weeks, the Magic Leap One has been unveiled with increasing frequency, but the main topic of discussion was the operating system or tutorials. For this time it is on the site of the equipment and we have some information about the battery and storage.
We need to remember….. the Magic Leap One has long been perceived as a kind of white whale, too good to be true, and a far-away technological perspective. Things are starting to change….. and they’re going in the right direction.
Battery and Storage: Magic Leap One at a glance
By digging into the source code a developer has managed to get some very valuable information for Next Reality in his hands. First, storage. The storage capacity in mixed-reality glasses should be approx. 128 GB. From a storage point of view, we are talking about a total of 8 GB, whereby 4 GB are available for applications. The rest should be exclusively for the system itself.
On the battery side, it becomes interesting. We finally have an idea of the capacity of the Lightpack from the point of view of battery autonomy. The battery is expected to last about three hours. However, the documentation points out that this may vary depending on the use. It remains to be seen whether the autonomy is 3 hours under “light”, normal or strong conditions. The controller is equipped with a rechargeable battery and should be able to reach 7h30 without much difficulty. Currently, there is no confirmation from Magic Leap at all.
