The Asus ROG Crosshair VII Hero (WIFI) design is very similar to its predecessor, but the manufacturer has decided to modify some of the components. Interestingly, for some people, the changes may be worse. The new model uses a slightly modified power section heat sink, but the configuration of the latter remains the same as before. You can also see that the start button has been moved closer to the top edge.

A much more significant and more noticeable change is the reduction of SATA connectors from eight to six, as well as replacing the upper PCIe x1 socket with the M.2 port (covered in the photo with a heat sink).

The configuration of connectors available on the rear panel is also slightly different. The Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero model included a total of 14 USB ports (8x USB 3.0, 4x USB 2.0 and 2x USB 3.1 Gen2). In the presented successor we see 12 connectors, which results from the fact that two previously available USB 2.0 ports have been replaced with a shared PS/2 socket. All the rest of the components seem to be identical, but of course, it is worth to wait for the official specification of the motherboard. VideoCardz announces that Premier Asus ROG Crosshair VII Hero will be taking place on 19th April this year.
