ASUS today unveiled its new Prime J4005I-C motherboard. That is a new ITX option with the Intel Gemini Lake SOC that introduces an ideal platform for low-cost multimedia or work environments. This new motherboard includes a dual-core CPU with a TDP of only 10W. So, that is capable of reaching up to 2.7Ghz in Turbo. The iGPU is an Intel Graphics 600 capable of moving video up to 4K resolutions.

Regarding connectivity, the board comes with four USB ports (two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0). Also, there are two PS2 ports, an Ethernet port, an HDMI, a VGA, a serial port and three jacks for HD audio. Audio that by the way will be served by a Realtek ALC887, a very competent mid-range option.
As for the rest of the motherboard, it stands out that no PCIe port has been included. Also, there is an M.2 port has been added that can work in SATA or PCIe mode as storage for units up to 2280. And a second port that accepts groups of up to 2242. So, that can be installed cross-wise. The storage options are completed with two SATA 3 ports. Also, the memory allows the installation of up to two DDR4 DIMMs.
ASUS has equipped this motherboard with a passive heatsink of considerable size, which will be enough for the cooling of this SOC.
The price for this new motherboard will be around € 80 when it hits the market.
