ASUS has launched its new gaming monitor for the entry area, its 27 inches, 1080p VP278QGL. This is a set that might interest some gamers….. Let’s see it.

The primary concern with this monitor is the use of a TN panel, which has two positive and one negative effect. The good thing is the response time of 1ms, which is especially useful for shooters. Moreover, the use of this type of panel allows a relatively low price (predictable).
TN panels are also characterized by a lower image quality with poorer colors and viewing angles. There is usually a trend in cheap panels like this, though in the high end you get better things. However, ASUS promises 100% sRGB color coverage, which is very encouraging in this respect.
Freesync technology is one of the VP278QGL’s most important features because it will help reduce problems such as tearing downs with AMD Radeon graphics. Any NVIDIA graphics card user benefits from a relatively high refresh rate of 75 Hz.

The main information on this monitor is complemented by the use of two 2W speakers (to get out of the jam) and the ability to make all kinds of position settings such as height, tilt or rotation, a respectable brightness and contrast of 300 nits or 1200:1, respectively. There is no price or availability figure for this VP278QGL, which may be postulated as an acceptable option, however for 1080p resolution we generally recommend no more than 24 inches for various reasons, including the ability to choose a better monitor for the same price or the density of pixels of this size and resolution, which could disrupt some users.
