Apple Watch and the ECG function
Among the countries concerned are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Portugal and the United Kingdom.
Apple explains:
The ECG application (electrocardiogram) allows the user to perform an ECG measurement directly on the wrist to record his heart rate in case of disturbing symptoms such as rapid rhythm or extrasystole in order to communicate this important data to his doctor. This feature is now available in 19 European countries, including Germany, Spain, France, Italy and the UK. The ECG App and Arrhythmia Notification Function have received CE Marking and are approved in the European Economic Area. The ECG1 App and Arrhythmia Notification Function2 warn the user when they show signs of AF, the most common form of arrhythmia. Untreated, AF is one of the most common causes of stroke, the second leading cause of death worldwide.
Simultaneously, Apple fans will benefit from support for second-generation AirPod wireless headsets. That means it’s now possible to use them with an Apple Watch to listen to music on the go. To benefit from this update, it is necessary for your iPhone to run iOS 12.2.
