AOC unveils 49-inch Agon AG493UCX Curved ultra-panoramic monitor with a 120Hz refresh rate.
AOC AG493UCX, new 49-inch ultra-panoramic monitor
AOC announces the launch of the 49-inch AG493UCX monitor, which will hit the market just before the holiday shopping season. This is a monitor aimed at gamers who need the benefits of FreeSync Premium Pro technology, a good refresh rate, and the lowest possible latency.
The AOC monitor offers a 49-inch panel with an image resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixels at a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a latency of only 1 ms MPRT. Maximum brightness is 550 nits with a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and vertical/horizontal viewing angles of 178°/178°. The display supports DisplayHDR 400, which is not the best HDR we can find on the market but should deliver satisfactory results. There is no mention of Dolby Vision support.
The panel can reproduce 121% of sRGB colors, 90% of DCI-P3, and 90% of AdobeRGB color spaces. So this is not a monitor specifically for professional design, but for video games or other audiovisual content.
The monitor has some special features for gamers, such as an fps counter, raster overlay, dark area brightening, etc.
AOC adds a USB-C input in the base and a KVM switch for multiple hosts. There’s also a pair of built-in 5W speakers and a handy headphone jack. Docks for connecting peripherals and phones via USB are becoming more common and are also useful for monitors.
The AOC Agon AG493UCX monitor costs 1,036 euros, which is not as high as we would expect from a product with these features. You can see more information on the official product page.
