AMD Ryzen 9 7845X “Dragon Range” laptop processor appears on the scene and is going to feature a total of 12 cores and 24 threads, which will be one of the most powerful laptop Ryzen parts with the Zen 4 architecture.
AMD Ryzen 9 7845X ‘Dragon Range’ (Zen 4) with 12 cores
The Ryzen 9 7845HX will have 12 cores and 24 threads, belonging to the high-end Zen 4 line for portable devices. These processors are called ‘Dragon Range’ and will only be used in the highest-end laptops.
The CPU appeared in the Ashes of the Singularity database, where we found the performance results it achieves with its 12 cores and 24 threads, which is the same core configuration as in Ryzen 9 7900X.
AMD is presumably going to introduce a new CPU above the 7845HX, the 7945HX with around 16 cores and 32 threads, which will have to compete against the i9-13900HX with 24 cores and 32 threads. They are also expected to feature RDNA 3 graphics, to offer good gaming performance without dedicated graphics.
The AMD Ryzen 7000HX processor series is expected to launch next year, possibly at CES 2023 to show a lot more details about it, which is going to be held in January, in a very important series for AMD and its penetration in the laptop market, always dominated by Intel.
