Thanks to the incredible transparency of the data from Germany’s largest e-commerce company Mindfactory.de, we have very interesting data on the behavior of the CPU retail market, both AMD and Intel. This data corresponds to the turnover of the largest seller in Germany and can be considered as same throughout the world.
Intel sold less than half of its competitor AMD to Germany’s largest retailer in November
As we can see from the bar charts, Intel has sold less than half of its competitor AMD. In the bar, you can see that Intel sold almost 8000 units as in the same month last year. This suggests that AMD’s growth has not cannibalized Intel’s sales, but has simply grown by its own technological enhancements.

The best-selling CPU was the AMD Ryzen R5 2600, followed by the R7 2700X, the R5 2600X and finally the Intel Core i7 8700K in fourth place.

Almost half of all CPUs sold on the e-tailer last month were second-generation AMD Ryzen “Pinnacle Ridge” chips, accounting for 47% of the total. Second, there is Intel’s Coffee Lake, with just under half, 22%. Although, again thanks to significantly higher prices, Intel’s revenue share is significantly higher than the share of CPUs sold.
It seems that the Ryzen 5 2600/2600X and Ryzen 7 2700X will become very juicy processors for the performance and price they offer. On the other hand, Intel with its Intel core chips in this segment still has a great performance, the problem is the price, and that would at this time shift the balance towards AMD processors.
