AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT, design would be black and power consumption of 50W

What’s new about the AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT is the higher GDDR 6 speed, higher power consumption, and Midnight Black reference design. Everything remains the same: the same stream processors, RDNA 2, and 7nm manufacturing process.

However, the news focuses on the fact that the reference design of RX 6950 XT would be Midnight Black, which means 3 fans and black color.

AMD Radeon RX 6950XT in black, what does the future look like?

Forgive the indiscretion of the title, but it has already cost AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT, the introduction of RX 6900 XT LC with liquid cooling was almost non-existent and nefarious … now they want to surprise with a GPU with a higher speed.

What’s new is that AMD is preparing a black reference design for fans of the brand, but we must say that it comes with the same memory speed as the RX 6900 XT LC: 18 Gbps. That’s certainly a step up from the standard 16 Gbps we see on the other RX 6000s.

In return, it will consume 50 watts more, but everything else remains the same: same ray accelerators, same architecture, stream processors, VRAM memory, everything! As our colleagues at VideoCardz rightly note, the RX 6800 XT was already available as a Midnight Black model in a special edition.

We don’t know if the assemblers will bring us any graphics cards, but it is certain that all information points to three new graphics cards: RX 6950XT, 6750XT, and 6650XT. All will feature faster GDDR6 memory and higher TDP – enough to convince people to spend more money?

Graphics cards are already overpriced, but AMD’s stock has done pretty poorly over the last 2 years. The most powerful model in the entire RX 6000 line is the AMD RX 6950XT with the Navi 21 XTXH GPU, which features 5120 stream processors, 16GB of 256-bit GDDR6, 18Gbps, and 350W total.

It is believed that it will be unveiled on April 20 along with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, but it is not confirmed yet as these are just rumors. So, it will come after the NVIDIA RTX 3090 Ti after it was confirmed that it will launch on March 29 and reviews will be published on the same day.
