In the glorious days of ATI Radeon, the XT nomenclature was used to name an improved variant based on the same silicon, for example, the Radeon HD 2900 XT. After the acquisition of AMD, the XT, Pro, XL and other less used extensions such as XTX and All-in-Wonder were no longer used. This will change soon. AMD will release the Radeon RX 560 XT specifically for China.
AMD reuses the XT nomenclature with the RX 560 XT graphics card. This new GPU, available only for China, is placed (in terms of performance) between the RX 560 of 4 GB and the RX 570 of 4 GB, based on the Polaris silicon, although we don’t know exactly whether it is based on Polaris 20 or Polaris 30.
AMD allowed 28 of 36 NGCUs in this silicon, resulting in a configuration of 1,792 stream processors, 112 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The memory is 4 GB over a 256-bit memory interface, although the memory clock frequency is reduced to 6.6 Gbps (211.2 Gbps). Apparently, there will be no reference graphics card for this RX 560 XT, and the launch will be performed by manufacturing partners with their own custom designs.
In this comparison, we clearly see what the advantage of this graphics card is over the non-XT model, which is perfectly placed between the performance of the RX 560 and 570.
The RX 560 XT is designed exclusively for the Chinese market. We don’t know for sure if it will be launched in the West, but we’ll keep you posted.
