AMD confirms the introduction of RDNA 2 GPU to Tesla Model X/S, performance comparable to PS5

Tesla officials say that the new in-car system will be based on the Tesla Gaming Arcade platform with a 17-inch 2200*1300 resolution Cinematic Display screen. First to break the news that Tesla’s new Model S will use the AMD RDNA2 GPU was Patrick Schur, who said the Tesla Model S will use the Navi 2x SKU-derived Navi 23.

Cyberpunk 2077 was what put Elon Musk on the map, as he showed off during a presentation of his electric cars. The idea revolves around implementing Steam in Tesla, but to make it feasible, the US brand would need the help of AMD Zen+ and RDNA 2. For now, it confirms that they are working on it for the long term.

Steam in Tesla with AMD, gaming in the car?

From what I understand, this is a cloud gaming service that can be used from the car, so keep an eye out for Google Stadia or Xbox Game Pass.

Why AMD. Because the Steam Deck h uses the red team’s technology, saving Tesla from having to work on drivers and bug fixes. Tesla Arcade will feature a 17-inch display with 2200 x 1300 resolution, backed by a Navi 23 GPU (RX 6600 and 6600 XT desktop) with 28 CUs and RDNA2 architecture.

The CPU would be a sort of portable Ryzen 3, featuring 4 cores and 8 threads, a 12 nm process, and Zen+ architecture. GPU performance would be around 10 TFLOPs, which is on par with what the PlayStation 5 offers. However, it is not yet confirmed that the CPU will be Zen+.

Starting Tesla Arcade

Elon Musk has the idea of launching Tesla Arcade for Model X, Model S, and Cybertruck. Since the latter isn’t coming until 2023, this console could launch as early as the end of this year or wait until 2023.
