AMD has developed the new A6-9220C processor, which was developed to enable better use of the new Chromebook. This processor offers superior performance over the Intel Celeron N3350 and Pentium N4200, two models that are very popular with Chromebook. The new AMD processor offers improved performance for web browsing, photo, and video editing, web applications, gaming, productivity, and email. The AMD A4-9120C processor is also designed to offer even more competitive products.

The AMD A6-9220C and A4-9120C processors are based on the excavator architecture and are manufactured in a 28nm process, making them extremely cost-effective. Both have a 128-stream Radeon R4 GPU processor at frequencies of 720 MHz and 600 MHz, respectively. Its features are complemented by 1 MB L2 cache and a total of two cores at base and turbo frequencies of 1.8/2.7 GHz and 1.6/2.4 GHz, respectively. All this with a TDP of only 6W, which allows you to form very light teams with great autonomy.

These are very simple processors, but cheap and able to offer great performance on Chromebook, even with hardware that specializes in decoding content VP9 and H.265.
