Huawei introduced a new product at IFA 2018, an intelligent speaker, but before you say there is nothing new, you should know that the Asian company brings it with an interesting idea. Well, the new AI Cube can also work as a router, isn’t that wonderful?
Huawei seems to have used its experience as a manufacturer of communication devices and has now decided to incorporate it into its products. The new AI Cube is operated by Alexa and also functions as a 4G router.
There is no doubt that this is a very interesting feature that brings this device a plus. But if you’re wondering how the Huawei AI Cube can act as a router, it’s because it has an internal Cat 6 4G LTE radio modem and an 802.11ac WiFi adapter.
In terms of design, the Huawei AI Cube is similar to the Google speaker, but with a higher height. It has a group of buttons at the top, as we can see in the picture. It also has four microphones for voice input and only one 15W mono speaker, so we don’t know what to expect in terms of sound quality. Huawei says, however, that since the speaker has a headroom of 400 ml, the audio quality will increase.
The company also ensures that you can enjoy virtual bass, adaptive controls, and a linear phase equalizer thanks to its Histen technologies.
The AI Cube will not arrive in Europe until the end of the year, according to Huawei, and unfortunately, neither American nor Chinese users will be able to hold this version in their hands, provided that this is due to the restrictive measures taken by these countries against these manufacturers and the alleged espionage attempts.
The prices are not known at the moment, but will certainly be announced later.
