The Acer Predator Triton 500 has a display that updates to 300 Hz, the highest update rate on the market.

Acer revised its line of Predator series gaming notebooks on Thursday with the addition of 10th generation Intel core processors and introduced updated versions of the Nitro 5 and Triton 500, the latter with the also new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 super graphics card.

The new version of the Predator Triton 500 features a 300Hz IPS panel (typical for new gaming devices are 144 or 200Hz) and a response time of 3 milliseconds.

The Acer notebook is equipped with 10th generation Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super or 2070 Super graphics cards in Max-Q design.

In addition, the Predator Triton 500 has a battery life of up to 7.5 hours and includes a WiFi 6 Ax1650i wireless controller, an Ethernet E3100G controller and Control Center 2.0 to improve the quality of the network connection.

It uses a 17.9 mm thick, 2.1 kg metal chassis with narrow bezels and an 81 percent screen ratio. The notebook has up to 32 GB DDR4 memory and up to 2 TB NVMe and SSD storage RAID 0.

The new device uses Acer Vortex Flow cooling technology, which includes three adjustable fans inside the case to increase airflow inside the case and reduce noise. This feature is complemented by CoolBoost technology, which increases fan speed, and players can control temperature and adjust fan speed via the PredatorSense user interface.

This notebook cooling system also includes a fourth-generation AeroBlade 3D metal fan with jagged edges, blades and a curved chassis that provides 45 percent more airflow. In addition to its five channels, it offers a 33 percent increase in performance over the 2019 edition.

The other gamer notebook that Acer has introduced, the Nitro 5, is equipped with a processor of up to the tenth generation Intel Core i7 at 5 GHz and offers graphics options like Geforce RTX 2060, the latest Geforce GTX 1650Ti or 1650.

Internally, Nitro 5 includes up to two PCIe SSD memory units and a 1TB hard drive, and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM in two upgradeable DIMM slots.

It is available with a 15.6-inch full HD IPS to display with 144Hz or 120Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time and 300 nits brightness.

The device features a cooling system with two fans using the air intake and exhaust ports and four grilles, which improves thermal performance by a total of 25 percent compared to the 2019 model.

Technically it is complemented by CoolBoost technology, which can increase fan speed by 10 percent and processor and graphics cooling by 9 percent, as well as Intel WiFi 6 AX201 (802.11ax) and Ethernet E2600 connectivity.
