Although it is still possible to buy the HTC Vive Pro at a slightly lower price than usual thanks to Black Friday, the manufacturer has just announced and introduced a limited edition of its high-end headset.
It’s quite surprising that today we discover the HTC Vive Pro Limited Edition McLaren, sold for 1550€ on the official Vive website. Technically it’s obviously the same features as the Vive Pro with its 2 controllers and 2.0 base stations.
With the exception of the Black Friday promotion, this full kit is normally sold for 1399€. The McLaren edition, therefore, requires an additional 150€ for packaging, colors and logo of the famous Formula 1 brand. The package also includes a code to download the McLaren rFactor 2 simulator, the McLaren VR Garage Experience.
The publication of this issue easily contradicts HTC’s communication trend of selling its Vive Pro so far and justifies the very high price due to its focus on professionals. The publication of a limited edition like this is clearly aimed at an audience that loves motorsport and racing games.
