While waiting for the official launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, the Korean company has revealed its new virtual assistant Bixby officially for the new upcoming smartphones in late March.

Apple’s Siri was a trailblazer in the category of virtual assistants for a long time. So now today almost every business company has its own virtual assistant solution. Microsoft has given birth to Cortana, Amazon bet on Alexa and Google has entrusted to Assistant (in the absence of a more original name).

Very soon, however, there will be a new assistant, developed by Samsung that is called as Bixby. Even though the Korean company has confirmed that the first version will be launched with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, whose first presentation is expected in between upcoming one week (exactly on 29 March).

Samsung Bixby will be pre-installed on Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8 Plus. And activated through a dedicated button , positioned on the side of the device. So when this button is pressed it will start managing your smartphones using a voice command. Of course, the terminals will run on Android oprating system.

BIXBY For All Samsung Smart Phones?

And you can also use the voice services of Google , but Samsung hopes Bixby can stand better for integration with Samsung products (Smart TVs, household appliances and audio equipment). And also there are some additional features , such as ability to have full control over the applications that support Bixby. There are touch controls  that are replaceable by voice commands and everything will be easier.

According to an announcement by Samsung, it has three key features that are absent in its competitors. Counting on them are : completeness, context awareness and cognitive tolerance . Thanks to the advance algorithm, Bixby can complete voice commands even if these are unclear.

And will learn from the user’s habits. It has option of becoming active based on the context or activity to improve or simplify some operations. So not only a worker, but is a true “companion.”

At the launch of Galaxy S8, “only a few pre-installed applications will new voice assuistant enabled” . But the Korean company’s goal is to grow the list of compatible apps. And it is a question that why Samsung will release an SDK to help third-party developers to integrate support for Bixby in their applications.

It is not the first time that the Korean company tries to develop “on their own” alternative solutions to the Google products, but Samsung Bixby has all it takes to be successful .
