A Revolution for the World of Cyber Security

Fundamentally, quantum technology will be able to create the possibility of generating truly random numbers in a computerized way. Although this may seem a small detail, it will make a difference in ensuring the privacy and protection of data stored on mobile phones.

In order to protect the information on one of these computers, an encryption method using “random” numbers is usually required. But these numbers, although they cannot be identified by the human mind, have patterns that can be easily found by computers. This makes the encryption weak in the face of certain cyber attacks.

With the advent of true randomization of numbers, offered by a quantum processor, this will no longer be a problem. Since the encryption by each computer will be unique and pattern-free.

Basically, this is possible because of the Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) chip announced in Sammobile. This has an LED and a CMOS sensor that is used to detect the light.

The waves and Led collected by this chip are translated into data that is then used to generate the numerical randomization. In this way, this will always depend on the light patterns captured in the environment, some of which will certainly never be the same again and will remain in constant mutation.

As mentioned earlier, SK Telecom teamed up with Samsung to create the Galaxy A Quantum. Their specific point of collaboration was the creation of this chip by their Swiss subsidiary ID Quantique.

So far, Galaxy A Quantum has only been presented for distribution in South Korea. Its functionality is expected to enable a leap forward for biometric security services such as T-ID enrollment and banking applications such as SK Pay.

Thanks to its randomization style, all these types of operations will be much more secure. This, in turn, could encourage companies to invest more in these types of services and programs.

Not surprisingly, other companies, and even Samsung itself, will soon begin to contribute more to the newly initiated world of quantum cell technology. By then, these devices could finally begin to reach the rest of the world.
