iOS 12.2 New Features

Apple ended their event “It’s Show Time” with all kinds of ads focusing on services. The Cupertino also took advantage of the Keynote Pull to launch iOS 12.2, an update you can download right away. The new version of the operating system offers some interesting features.

The new Animoji are very special: Owl, wild boar, giraffe and shark. Of course, they are only available on the iPhone X, XS and XR as well as on the 12.9-inch and 11-inch IPad Pro. In addition, support has been added for the AirPods launched last week. Buyers will receive the headphones this week, so it will be necessary to upgrade if they want to use them.

iOS 12.2 is also compatible with Apple News+ which is the new magazine subscription service. The platform is available from today for $9.99 in the U.S. and Canada, while Australia and the U.K. will receive it this fall. Subscribers have access to 300 different publications.

TV controls are now displayed in the Control Center and on the lock screen, and AirPlay multitasking allows you to use other applications and play other audio and video files locally on the device without interrupting AirPlay playback.

It is now also possible to set inactivity hours with different times for each day of the week, and a new information box under Settings displays the remaining warranty time. Now you can ask Siri to play videos from your iOS device on an Apple TV. As usual with this type of update, a number of bugs and issues have been fixed. Guilherme Rambo, a renowned developer, said that iOS 12.2 contains some changes to the AirPower-related code, so the wireless charger may finally be available very soon.
