About a month ago we told you that Synaptics, the famous sensor manufacturer, was working on a new technology where the fingerprint sensor is under the screen.
Then we revealed that Vivo would be the first manufacturer to release this technology on their phones.
The Chinese manufacturer announced during CES2018 that the Vivo X20 Plus was ready and will be the first smartphone with the Fingerprint sensor on the screen and demonstrated this technology. Now the great day has arrived, and now Vivo officially announces the launch of this device.
According to a publication on the Weibo social network, the manufacturer announced that on Wednesday, January 24, the Vivo X20 Plus UD would be officially presented during a private event in China.
This device will include the Synaptics Clear ID FS9500 sensor. Also, that comes with the Vivo In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology. That is developed by Synaptics that will allow fingerprint verification not only for mobile unlocking but also performs other functions.
As mentioned, this will be the first smartphone to have this technology. Vivo has endeavored to modify its FunTouch OS customization layer to show the pattern of fingerprints on the screen so that the user has a guide or suggestion when the time comes.
Apple says it never wanted a fingerprint reader for the iPhone X
The new Vivo X20 Plus UD provides a FullView AMOLED screen of 6.4 inches and FullHD resolution. So, that follows the trend of reduced frames with an 18: 9 ratio. Internally it incorporates the Snapdragon 660 chip with 2.2 GHz frequency. That comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable internal storage up to 256GB.
This smartphone also has a dual 24MP camera and 5MP in the back and a front camera of 24MP. The battery is 3800mAh. We do not know the information related to the price and availability.
